This practice note looks at some of the UN Security Council’s resolutions relating to women since 2000 and shows how they can be implemented into Security Sector Reform (SSR). It argues that the resolutions address the need for SSR to take into account the security needs of women, particularly in armed conflicts, and promote women’s participation in SSR processes and security sector institutions.
