This brief provides an update to the Gender and Security Sector Reform’s Toolkit’s Tool on Penal Reform and Gender, following the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the UN Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-Custodial Measures for Women Offenders, known as the 'Bangkok Rules'.
