This publication argues that the 2015 British elections will provide a golden opportunity to debate whether the UK needs a nuclear weapons system beyond 2050 or not, and if so, what type should it be and what capabilities should it have. To facilitate the debate, the publication overviews the strategic options that are available, their potential costs and problems, and what their deterrent value would be.
