This paper investigates the nature of the treaties pertaining to the Durand Line and questions the legality of the line as the post 1947 Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The author analyzes the original signed treaties and legal arguments given by Afghanistan and Pakistan, and concludes by stating that Afghanistan has the legal right not to recognize the Durand Line as the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
