This paper initially wonders whether the concept of resilience, which in Switzerland is strongly associated with disaster management, should be tied more closely to Swiss security policy. In exploring this possibility, the authors describe the various types of resilience that exist, what their aims are, and what available resources or instruments support them. Finally, they look at the benefits of intertwining resilience-based thinking into Swiss disaster management, and just how much of this lashing up has actually occurred.
