This report analyzes militia activity in urban areas and communal violence in the Rift Valley and elsewhere in Kenya. It also explores conflict in neighboring Somalia and its implications for unrest in the north-east of Kenya, as well as the link between separatism and Islamist mobilization in the Kenya's Coast province.
