This paper examines student achievement levels among 10-18 year old children in rural Bangladesh and how the amount of time spent in school affects learning. Overall, the authors say that data on these children suggests that even those who have successfully completed five years of primary schooling seem to have a low level of learning. They then go on to argue for policies that do not just focus on access to schooling, but also on learning outcomes.
