This journal addresses a wide variety of different topics on the nature of conflict with a particular focus on counter-insurgency and the changing character of warfare. Some of the other areas covered in this issue include 1) violence in Zimbabwe’s war of liberation, 2) the Mexican war on drugs, 3) the "barbarization" of warfare in Vietnam, and 4) US Air Force equipment investments. It also includes a book and film review, as well as an interview with Shawn Brimley, Vice President and Director of Studies at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) on US defense strategy.
