This paper analyzes the impact of foreign content on cinema and television in Kuwait. By examining the program of selected movie theaters and television stations in Kuwait for a period of eight weeks, the author finds that while American films dominate movie theaters, local production of television content continues to be strong. He argues that globalization does not affect the country’s television content because Kuwaitis consider it to be an channel for the preservation of their national identity.
