This paper argues that Malawian adults’ opinions on the political leadership ability of women do not seem to be influenced by negative gender stereotypes. They also suggest that this is the case irrespective of gender or location. However, they say that those with higher levels of education usually demonstrate stronger support for the right for women to serve as political leaders.
