This journal addresses a wide variety of different topics on the nature of conflict with a particular focus on counter-insurgency and the changing character of warfare. This issues includes articles on: the Mexican war on drugs during the first year of the Enrique Peña Nieto administration; the use of weather satellites to help plan military operations; and the Sunni alliance with Al-Qaeda in Iraq's western province of Anbar, among others.
