This brief argues that the British Labor Party should reexamine its policy on the UK's nuclear arsenal and adopt an approach that would seek to reduce the country's reliance on nuclear weapons for its national security. To make this argument, the author examines a number of issues, including the effect such a change in policy could have on the course of international disarmament, electoral support for this policy, and US perceptions of the UK's nuclear deterrent.
