In light of the upcoming withdrawal of international troops from Afghanistan in 2014, this paper suggests that India and Iran stand out as the best future allies for the country. The author argues that together, India and Iran can forge a long term partnership with Afghanistan which would not only help ensure peace and security in the country, but also promote Indian and Iranian interests in the region.
