This brief explores the improved relations between China and Nepal, the reasons behind the rapprochement, and the impact the closer ties are having on India’s relationship with Kathmandu. As the brief confirms, the latter issue matters because Nepal has become a center of a geopolitical competition between New Delhi and Beijing in four areas -- economic, political, military and general aid.
