This paper discusses the political and economic situation in Tunisia and how it has changed since the Arab Spring in 2011. The author contends that while the economic situation has not improved over this period, there has been a marked change in the atmosphere in the country since Mehdi Jomaa was made Prime Minister in December 2014. However, he also says that if Tunisia does not deal with its economic problems, including the size of the informal economic and its balance of payments deficit, the economy could well derail the political progress the country has made.
