This paper analyzes the extent to which there has been a rise in radical right-wing parties in Europe, the influence of these parties in the European Parliament, and their impact on EU development policy. It examines how these parties fare in the national elections of EU member states as well as their representation and level of influence in the European Parliament. The authors argue that if these parties increase the number of seats their have in the European Parliament in the 2014 elections, they could pose a threat to the future of the EU's aid program.
