This paper provides an overview of conflict trends in a number of African countries up to May 2014. In particular, the authors examine developments in conflicts in South Sudan, Senegal, Nigeria, Mali, Kenya and the Central African Republic as well as political protests in Malawi during the country's presidential elections.
