This paper examines how multilateral climate funds (MCFs) mobilize private finance to respond to climate change. The authors review the performance of these MCFs by compiling a data set of 93 private finance interventions (PFIs) across five MCFs and identifying patterns in those PFIs that target high levels of private investment.
