This brief examines how Africa can improve collaboration and coordination among African Union (AU) and Regional Economic Community (REC) organs and institutions in order to strengthen governance, human rights and democracy. The author contends that establishing an African Governance Architecture (AGA) that works closely with the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and African Governance Platform will help address deficiencies in these areas and improve governance on the continent.
