This issue provides an overview of conflict trends in a number of African countries up to JJune 2014. In particular, the authors examine 1) conflict minerals in the Democratic Republic of Congo; 2) the growing security crisis in Kenya; 3) the changing conflict dynamics in Mali; and 4) the ongoing unrest in Nigeria. This issue also includes a special focus on state fragility and how it is measured.
