This journal features articles that address a wide variety of different topics on the nature of conflict, with a particular focus on counterinsurgency, organized crime in Central America, terrorism and the changing character of warfare. Some of the topics covered in this issue include 1) Iran’s military capabilities and structures; 2) whether migrants fleeing violence perpetrated by transnational organized crime should be treated as refugees; 3) how the post-9/11 war on terror has changed community policing in the UK and the US; 4) the Israel-Lebanon war of 2006; and 5) whether the Sri Lankan Army can be described as a counterinsurgency force.
