This note discusses Macedonia’s relations with the EU and argues that the country’s continued exclusion from the Union has had, and will continue to have a negative impact on the country. Indeed, the author argues that unless the EU does not provide a clear path for Macedonia’s accession to the Union, the country will further suffer the negative economic and political consequences of the government’s nationalist historical revisionism program.
