This paper examines the trade policy restrictions and embargoes that were imposed by Russia on Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia in response to the sanctions placed by the EU and the US on Moscow following Russia's intervention in Ukraine. The author suggests that the Russian restrictions and embargoes have had a substantial effect on the trade capabilities of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia and that all three have been pushed to alter their trade marketing to favor the EU and other world markets over Russia.
