This analysis examines 1) the intensification of irregular migration to Europe in the wake of the Arab Spring, and 2) how EU and Schengen zone members have responded thus far. The analysis also looks at the part Switzerland has played in the management of the EU's external borders and how it plans to deal with irregular migration in the future, both from a local and European standpoint.
