This issue provides an overview of conflict trends in a number of African countries up to September 2014. In particular, the authors examine 1) cross border violence by Boko Haram in Cameroon; 2) the protest dynamics in Egypt and the wider region of North Africa 3) the service delivery protests in South Africa; 4) the ongoing unrest in South Sudan; and 5) the changing nature of political violence and civilian targeting in Zimbabwe. The issue also explores the interrelationship of conflict and the spread of Ebola in West Africa.
