This paper contends that although on the face of things, relations between Russia and China have never been as good as in 2014, competition between these two countries may increasingly emerge in Central Asia as both attempt to further bolster their influence through the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union and China’s Silk Road Economic Belt.
