This paper discusses how India can improve its foreign relations with the US, following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first visit to the US in October 2014. The author examines past and present cooperation, including defense and trade relations, and presents the challenges ahead. He then concludes that Delhi's foreign policy priority should be the revival of, and a subsequent emphasis on, India-US-Japan trilateral relations.
