This paper provides an overview of the international political dynamics around the reduction of tropical deforestation and forest degradation. The authors examine the United Nations Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) and provide recommendations for donor countries and REDD+ countries. These include actively sharing their experiences and lessons with others, and learning from them in return, as well as maintaining a more active engagement with the private sector to stimulate investment.
