This paper discusses the part "emerging powers" play in the international system, particularly in third-party intervention in conflict and post-conflict areas. More specifically, the author 1) explains what an emerging power is; 2) identifies differences and commonalities between these powers vis-avis their stances on third-party interventions; 3) outlines how peace operations have changed since the early 2000s; and 4) indicates avenues for further research on the topic.
