This commentary discusses the future challenges facing the EU Commission under the mandate of its newly elected President Jean-Claude Juncker. More specifically, the authors look at factors that might determine the success or failure of the Commission in putting forward initiatives and defending European interests, particularly in economic and foreign policy areas.
