This paper examines statements made by the representatives of Russia and the US at the UN Security Council to determine how the two countries' conceptual perceptions of peace affect how they agree and disagree over peace strategies. In particular, the authors examine statements made in debates on on four conflicts (Georgia 2008, Libya 2011, Syria 2011-2014 and Ukraine 2014).
