This paper examines the involvement of African countries in the G-20 group of major economies, including South Africa as the only permanent member from the continent, as well as those countries which are invited into the group as guests for a one year period. The authors argue that the G20’s development agenda is inherently linked with Africa’s economic development. Africa should therefore have greater participation in the G20.
