This paper examines Sino-Russian economic and strategic relations since Chinese President Xi Jinping assumed power in 2013. The author argues that China’s Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the Arctic will deepen economic ties between Beijing and Moscow as this maritime link between Asia and Europe becomes more frequently used.
