This paper argues that through its Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2014, Switzerland has been effective in handling the 2014 Ukraine crisis. The author puts this success down to 1) the resources Bern has dedicated to the task; 2) its ability to act as an honest and neutral broker; and 3) its capacity to lead under difficult circumstances.
