This article argues that although cyberspace has existed for decades, the strategic principles of cyber-warfare have not yet been devised. As a starting point for creating such principles the author contends that, due to the similarities between the maritime and cyber domains, the thoughts of the naval strategist Sir Julian Corbett (1854-1922) should be used as inspiration.
