This article argues that although Israel's August 2014 assault on the Gaza Strip might yield a temporary sense of security at home, the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will remain intact. He argues that this situation will persist as long as Tel Aviv continues to seek operational-level military solutions for its strategic-level political problems.
