This paper discusses the challenges facing Sri Lankan government engagement with women in areas in the country that were previously dominated by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) since its victory over the LTTE in 2009. The authors also look at how the Sri Lankan government can improve this engagement and, with it, its post-conflict reconstruction efforts in the region and to overcome the marginalization of women.
