This brief discusses the Commitment to Development Index (CDI) 2014, which ranks countries in terms of the effectiveness of their aid programs. The authors assess the importance of the index as well as the best and worst performing countries. They also examine the seven categories in which each country was assessed (aid, trade, finance, migration, environment, security, technology) and offer a summary of how the countries performed in these categories.
