In 2009 the Nigerian government reached an agreement with rebels in the oil-rich Niger Delta, which led to fewer attacks on the local energy infrastructure. This article looks at the energy infrastructure in the delta and argues that growing cracks in the agreement may lead to a wave of new attacks and are already affecting Nigerian energy production.
