This article examines the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) involvement in Yemen’s political transition since the unseating of longtime autocratic leader Ali Abdullah Saleh in late 2011. The author argues that the UNSC has provided considerable support, however, a recent upsurge in political violence has exposed the limits of its influence over events in this fractured state.
