This article argues that although the US sees Israel's "Iron Dome" missile defense system as the ideal platform to defend its own territory from short range missile threats, the prospects for US-Israeli co-production of the system remain subject to Tel Aviv's ongoing efforts to deploy more of these assets along its own borders.
