This article discusses the legacy of Canada’s assimilation policy towards its Aboriginal peoples. The author argues that Canada has a long history of making and breaking promises to its Aboriginal peoples, and states that social unrest, dysfunction, and disorder mount while Canada’s first world image slowly disintegrates.
