This paper anticipates the problems the ninth review conference on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) will most likely face in May 2015. Given that the divide between nuclear weapons states and disarmament advocates has worsened in recent years, one of the biggest problems facing the conference is that it will not be able to produce a common final document, despite the best efforts of Switzerland and others to buttress up the NPT agenda.
