This article discusses the implications of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) between Russia and the former Soviet bloc for regional integration and Russia’s influence. The authors comment that the EU's criticism of the union might prove to be counter-productive in the long term because mutual cooperation could benefit both organizations’ political and economic status.
