This article looks at China's investment in Europe, particularly the Union's crisis-prone periphery. The author argues that while the investment has been largely welcomed in the crisis-prone countries, the sentiment is not shared by its more established and stable member states. They’re concerned that Chinese investments will make it difficult for Brussels to adopt critical stances against Beijing in the future.
