This report examines the oil price decline of 2014 and early 2015, the impact it has had on African exporters and importers and its expected future impact. The authors also 1) provide an overview of what drove the oil price decline; 2) assess Africa's vulnerability to changes in oil prices and identify the countries which are most exposed to these changes; and 3) provide case study analyses of the effects of oil prices on Nigeria and Tanzania.
