This paper discusses the dangers to the ongoing peace process between the Philippine Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) posed by the rhetoric of the candidates jockeying for political advantage ahead of the 2016 presidential election. The author also discusses the implications for the peace process of a clash between police forces and the MILF that took place in January 2015.
