This paper provides seven policy recommendations that focus on Southeast Asia and that the next American administration might want to implement during its first 100 days in office. The proposals include 1) fashioning a coherent maritime strategy in the Southeast Asian region; 2) adopting a more balanced approach towards China and its neighbors; 3) keeping democracy and human rights on the “front burner”; 4) strengthening counterterrorism cooperation with US partners; 5) maintaining a robust military presence in the region, and more.
