This issue provides an overview of conflict trends in a number of African countries up to June 2015. Among other issues, the authors focus on 1) civilian-targeted violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo; 2) the continued encroachment of Islamic State (IS) affiliated groups in Libya; 3) xenophobic violence in South Africa; 4) violent Islamist-related activity in Tanzania; 5) LRA and ADF patterns of activity in Uganda and the surrounding Central African region; and 6) political factionalism and electoral violence in Zimbabwe.
