This report examines Russia's hybrid war against Ukraine in 2014, and wonders whether it’s a type of warfare that can be applied elsewhere. According to the report's author, hybrid assaults use both military and non-military means that never spillover into traditional war. For hybrid warfare to succeed, however, certain preconditions have to be met, which means that Russia can only use it in a limited number of instances. That doesn’t mean though that Moscow can’t use elements of the hybrid approach, which is more than feasible.
